Thursday: Arrival in Tel Aviv
Meet, assist and transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv.
Friday: Avshalom Cave, Ashdod, Ashikelon, Yad Mordechai
Drive to the Avshalorn Cave to see the stalactites and the stalagmites. Proceed to the Southern
Coastal plain to visit the Port City of Ashdod. Continue to the Ad Halom Bridge, the Northernmost
point of the Egyptian infiltration during the war of Liberation. Visit the National Park in Ashkelon
and see the ancient Roman and Byzantine Excavations. Proceed to Kibbutz Yad Mordechai to visit
the Museum and reconstruction of a 1948 Battle Site. Overnight in Tel Aviv.
Saturday: Day at Leisure
Day at leisure in Tel Aviv. Overnight in Tel Aviv.
Sunday: Caesarea, Megiddo
Drive north to caesarea, once the Roman Capital of the Holyland. See the Excavations of the Roman
Statues, aqueduct and the Roman Theatre, which has been restored to its former glory as a concert
venue. Proceed to Megiddo to see the excavations of Solomon's Stables and 20 layers of civilization.
Continue to visit a Druze village on Mount Carmel. Overnight in Haifa.
Monday: Haifa, Acre, Safed, Golan Heights
Begin the tour of Haifa at the summit of Mount Carmel for a breathtaking panoramic view of the
Haifa bay and Western Galilee. Continue to the Golden-Domed Bahai Shrine to visit the exotic
Persian Gardens, and then to the Port Area. Drive to Acre to visit the the Crypt of St. John
and the underground crusader city Proceed to Safed - the center of Jewish Mysticism. Visit the
ancient Synagogue and the Artists Colony Continue to the Golan Heights to see the Syrian bunkers,
Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Kazrin. Overnight in Tiberias.
Tuesday: Capernaum, Nazareth, Beit Shean, Jericho
Start the day with a jeep tour. Drive to Capernaum, the Old Town of Jesus, and then on to Nazareth
to visit the Church of the Annunciation. Proceed to Belt Shean to see the recent excavations
of the Roman period. Drive along the Jordan Valley via Jericho, the world's oldest city. End
the day in Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Wednesday: The Old City of Jerusalem and Bethlehem
Visit the Tomb of King David and the room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion. Enter the walled City
and walk through the newly restored Jewish Quarter. Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian Quarter
and continue to the Western Wall. Visit the Rabbinical Tunnels. Walk along the Via Dolorosa to
the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Proceed to Mount Scopus and then to the Mount of Olives for
a magnificent panoramic view of the Old City Continue to Bethlehem, stopping at Rachel's Tomb.
Visit the Church of the Nativity. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Thursday: New City of Jerusalem
Drive to Hadassah Medical Center in Ein Karem to see the Shagall stained-glass windows. Proceed
to Bayit Vagan to visit the Model of Jerusalem as it was during the second Temple period. Continue
to Yad Vashem Memorial to the Holocaust, and then to the Israeli Museum. Visit the Shrine of
the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. See the Knesset, Israel's Parliament, and the
Givat Ram Campus of the Hebrew University. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Friday: Qumran, Dead Sea, Masada
Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, 400 meter below sea
level. Stop at Qumran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Drive along the
shores to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their
last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 A.D. Ascend by cable car.
If time permits, enjoy an opportunity to “swim”
in the Dead Sea. Return to Jerusalem for an overnight.
Saturday: Day at Leisure
Free day at leisure in Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Sunday: Departure
Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure.
