Day 1 West Coast/Guangzhou
Depart the West Coast via China Southern Airlines.

Day 2 Enroute

Day 3 Guangzhou/Kunming (L,D)
Arrive Guangzhou and connect with your flight to Kunming. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Kai Wah Plaza (or similar).

Day 4 Kunming/Dali (AB,L,D)
Excursion to the Stone Forest, 32 acres of special karst limestone formations which have eroded into cliffs and peaks, including caves, arches and pavilions, all connected by a labyrinth of trails. It is home to the Sani people, a branch of the Yi Minority. Afterwards transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Dali. Upon arrival transfer to the Asia Star Hotel (or similar).

Day 5 Dali (AB,L,D)
Travel by cable car up Cangshan Mountain, with panoramic views overlooking Erhai Lake. Continue to the Three Pagodas, known as the symbol of Dali, and the Bai Village of Xizhou where you’ll enjoy local-style Three-Course Tea with Bai Cultural Performance. Return to Dali and explore the cobbled streets and traditional stone architecture surrounded by the massive walls of the old town.

Day 6 Dali/Lijiang (AB,L,D)
After breakfast drive to Lijiang, home to the Naxi people. In the afternoon visit Black Dragon Pool, renowned for its flowers and pavilions, and the Dongba Cultural Institute. Continue to Dayan Old Town where you’ll explore the winding lanes and picturesque canals of this ancient town.

Day 7 Lijiang (AB,L,D)
Enjoy an excursion to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and ascend via chairlift to Yak Meadow. Enroute you’ll visit Whitewater River, Yufeng Lama Temple and Suhe Naxi Village.

Day 8 Lijiang/Kunming/Chongqing (AB,L,D)
Take the morning flight to Kunming. Between flights you’ll visit Golden Temple, a Taoist temple surrounded by pine forest on Phoenix Song Mountain. In the afternoon return to the airport and board your flight to Chongqing. Upon arrival transfer to the harbor with dinner enroute. Board your China Regal Cruises ship after dinner.

Day 9 Yangtze River Cruise (AB,L,D)
Start your spectacular cruise down the mighty Yangtze River. Relax on deck or in the lounge, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the magnificent Three Gorges. Today you’ll enjoy a shore excursion to Fengdu, the “Ghost City.”

Day 10 Yangtze River Cruise (AB,L,D)
This morning you’ll sail through Qutang and Wu Gorges. Midday excursion to either Shennong Stream or the Lesser Three Gorges, depending on river conditions. This afternoon you’ll enter Xiling Gorge, then navigate the 5 stages of the new Three Gorges Dam Shiplock.

Day 11 Yangtze River Cruise (AB,L,D)
This morning enjoy a shore excursion at the Three Gorges Dam site, where you’ll have a birds-eye view of this awe-inspiring engineering feat. Continue sailing downstream through the Gezhou Shiplock.

Day 12 Wuhan (AB,L,D)
Disembark in Wuhan midday, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to the Holiday Inn Hotel (or similar). This afternoon visit the Hubei Provincial Museum, with its 2200 year old tomb of the Marquis and his buried orchestra and attendants. Also visit Guiyuan Si Buddhist Temple, with buildings dating from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.

Day 13 Wuhan/Guangzhou/West Coast (AB,L)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, where you will connect with your international flight to the USA.

Day 13 Wuhan/Hong Kong (AB)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the Marco Polo Hotel (or similar). Afternoon at leisure.

Day 14 Hong Kong (AB,L)
Transfer from the hotel to Star Ferry pier, and enjoy the beautiful view of the famous Hong Kong skyline as you travel to Hong Kong Island. Disembark in Central district, the heart of Hong Kong’s financial and commercial area, and walk to the Central Market. Explore the market, then ride the world’s longest escalator up to Hollywood Road. Here you will see the contrast between old and new as you walk the winding lanes filled with bustling markets, antique & curio shops, cafes & restaurants, with many pre-World War II buildings. Continue to Victoria peak with its magnificent views of the Territory, and ride the historic peak tram. Next stop is Aberdeen Fishing Village where you’ll feast on dim sum for lunch, then enjoy a sampan ride through the houseboats to see the way of life of the fisherfolk. Continue to Stanley Market and browse the many shops for bargains. Return to the hotel late afternoon.

Day 15 Hong Kong/Guangzhou/West (AB)
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, where you will connect with your international flight to the USA.

Note: Availability of single cabins is limited during peak season. Itineraries may be adjusted due to local river conditions. Land only price for Basic Tour begins in Kunming and ends in Guangzhou, with Extension begins in Kunming and ends in Hong Kong. A $75 airfare surcharge will be added per person each way for departure and/or return on weekends. International air ticket taxes and airport departure taxes are additional.
