Day 1 West Coast/Guangzhou
Depart the West Coast this evening via China Southern Airlines.

Day 3 Guangzhou/Tunxi (L,D)
Arrive Guangzhou this morning and connect with your flight to Tunxi, the gateway to China's legendary Huangshan (Yellow Mountain). Meet your tour guide and transfer to the International Hotel (or similar). In the afternoon visit an ancient town nearby where most of the dwellings date to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Day 4 Tunxi/Huanghan (AB,L,D)
Drive to the foot of Huangshan, and board a cable car for the summit. Upon arrival transfer to the Xihai Hotel (or similar). Known for its knarled and knotted pine trees, its rugged rock formations, and its mist shrouded vistas, Huangshan has inspired poets and painters for more than a thousand years. The views of the surrounding countryside, with traditional villages and rice paddies, are some of the most beautiful in China.

Day 5 Huangshan (AB,L,D)
Enjoy a spectacular sunrise above a sea of clouds, then take in the West Sea and North Sea panoramas. If you're energetic you can explore the mountain via one of the numerous hiking trails.

Day 6 Huangshan/Tunxi/Shanghai (AB,L,D)
This morning you’ll have some more time to enjoy the spectacular scenery. After lunch you’ll take the cable car back down the mountain, and then transfer to the airport for your afternoon flight to Shanghai, where you will be met and transferred to the Jianguo Hotel (or similar).

Day 7 Shanghai (AB,L,D)
with a visit to The Bund, a famous promenade along the Huangpu River known for its historic European architecture. This is a favorite place for locals and tourists alike, and you’ll have time to relax and people watch. In the afternoon you’ll visit beautiful Yu Garden, a traditional Chinese garden and UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the neighboring Old Shanghai Bazaar, with many small shops selling an assortment of souvenirs, teas, Chinese medicine, antiques, etc.

Day 8 Shanghai/Yichang/Yangtze River (AB,L,D)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Yichang, where you will be met and transferred to the harbor with dinner enroute. Board Orient Royal Cruises MV East King cruiseship after dinner..

Day 9 Yangtze River (AB,L,D)
Begin cruising up the mighty Yangtze River, and enter the eastern part of Xiling Gorge. Arrive at Yangjiawan Pier, where you’ll enjoy a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam site for a birds-eye view of the entire engineering project. Return to the ship and navigate the 5-stage Shiplocks as you continue upriver.

Day 10 Yangtze River (AB,L,D)
Travel through the western part of Xiling Gorge, then enjoy a side trip to Shennong Stream. The stream is named for the legendary peasant and founder of Chinese medicine, Shennong, who hiked the cliffs and collected herbs here. You’ll travel via smaller “peaboats” past fascinating sights such as ancient plank roads and cave coffins, with the chance to see wild animals such as macaques and mandarin ducks. Return to the ship and continue sailing upstream, passing through Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge.

Day 11 Yangtze River (AB,L,D)
Today’s shore excursion is to Shibaozhai (Precious Stone Fortress), site of an unusual 12-story pavilion built against a sheer rectangular cliff during the Ming Dynasty. Visitors can climb to the ancient temple at the top and enjoy the view of of the Yangtze River as it flows east (during certain river conditions an excursion to White King Town will be substituted).

Day 12 Chongqing/Guangzhou/West (AB,L)
Disembark in Chongqing this morning and enjoy a tour to the ancient town of Chi Qi Kou, with many old buildings still standing. You’ll have the opportunity to see the traditional way of life of the local people. Also visit Erling Park and the Great Hall of the People before transferring to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, where you will connect with your flight to the USA.

Kunming & Guilin Extension - 5 days

Day 10 Chongqing/Kunming (AB,L,D)
Disembark in Chongqing this morning and transfer to the airport for your flight to Kunming. Transfer to the Kai Wah Plaza Hotel (or similar).

Day 11 Kunming (AB,L,D)
Enjoy a full day excursion to the Stone Forest, 32 acres of special karst limestone formations that have eroded into cliffs and peaks, including caves, arches and pavilions, all connected by a labyrinth of trails. You'll also visit a Sani Village on the way back to the hotel.

Day 12 Kunming/Guilin (AB,L,D)
Visit the Dragon Gate and Huating Temple on Western Hill, and Grand View Pavilion. Enjoy the scenic view of Dianchi Lake. In the afternoon you'll transfer to the airport for your flight to Guilin, upon arrival transfer to the Sheraton Hotel (or similar).

Day 13 Guilin (AB,L,D)
Today's excursion is a cruise along the scenic Li River. Experience the magical beauty of limestone rock formations and farmland commonly seen in Chinese landscape paintings. Disembark at the charming village of Yangshuo, which has one of the best antique and handicraft markets in China. Brownse at the market, then drive back to Guilin.

Day 14 Guilin/Guangzhou/West Coast (AB,L)
Enjoy sightseeing in the Guilin area, including Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill and Seven Star Park. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, where you will connect with your international flight to the USA.
