Day 1 West Coast/Guangzhou
Depart this evening via China Southern Airlines.

Please note: the altitude in Lhasa is 14,000 feet. Travelers with high blood pressure or heart conditions should consult their doctor before traveling to Tibet. Travel insurance is strongly recommended, as there are no refunds for unused Tibet arrangements, even if departing Tibet early due to altitude sickness.

Day 3 Guangzhou/Chengdu (SD)
Arrive Guangzhou early this morning and connect to Chengdu. Upon your arrival in Chengdu, known as “the Land of Fish and Rice”, you will be met by the local guide and transferred to the Dynasty Hotel (or similar). Tonight enjoy a dinner of special Sichuan snacks.

Day 3 Chengdu/Lhasa (AB,L,D)
Take a morning flight to Lhasa and check into The Lhasa Hotel (or similar). Today's sightseeing begins with the 7th century Jokhang Monastery, one of the holiest shrines in Tibet, then continues to the clifftop Drepung Monastery.

Day 4 Chengdu/Lhasa (AB,L,D)

Day 5 Lhasa (AB,L,D)
Today’s excursion features the renovated Potala Palace, which rises majestically from the face of sacred Putuo Hill, the Norbulingka Palace, which was the Summer Palace of Tibetan Kings, and Sera Monastery.

Day 6 Lhasa/Gyantse (AB,L,D)
Transfer overland from Lhasa to Gyantse, passing by Yamdrok-Tso Lake enroute. Upon arrival in Gyantse you will visit the Pelkhor Chode Monastery, known for its Kumbum (10,000 images) Stupa.

Day 7 Gyantse/Shigatse (B,L,D)
Shigatse Hotel (or similar). Visit Tashilumpo Monastery and its surroundings, including the six-story bronze Buddha and the Maitreya Buddha made from 614 pounds of pure gold.

Day 8 Shigatse/Lhasa (B,L,D)
In the morning drive back to Lhasa and check into the Lhasa Hotel (or similar). In the afternoon, visit a Tibetan Clinic and famous Eight-Corner Street to get a glimpse of daily Tibetan life.

Day 9 Lhasa/Chengdu (AB,L,D)
Transfer to the Airport after breakfast for your flight to Chengdu. Upon arrival transfer to the Yinhe Dynasty Hotel (or similar).

Day 10 Chengdu/West Coast (AB)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, where you will connect with your flight to the USA.

Tour Details

Land only price begins and ends in Chengdu. A $75 airfare surcharge will be added per person each way for departure and/or return on weekends. International air ticket taxes and airport departure taxes are additional.
