Day 1 West Coast/Beijing
Depart the West Coast for Beijing.

Day 2 Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, you are met by your local guide and transferred to the Capital Hotel (or similar).

Day 3 Beijing (AB,L,SD)
After breakfast, visit Tiananmen Square, then enter the Forbidden City, home of Chinese Emperors for more than 500 years. After lunch, visit the Temple of Heaven, one of the best examples of Ming Dynasty architecture in Beijing. In the evening enjoy a Peking Duck welcome banquet.

Day 4 Beijing (AB,L)
Your highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall. Enjoy the dramatic vistas and marvel at the Wall as it climbs and descends steep ridges and narrow valleys. Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 5 Beijing/Guilin (AB,L,D)
This morning you’ll explore the Hutongs of Beijing, narrow lanes meandering through the old part of the city. Enjoy the historic architecture and traditional way of life. After lunch you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Royal Garden Hotel (or similar).

Day 6 Guilin (AB,L,D)
Today’s excursion is a cruise along the beautiful Li River. Experience the magical beauty of limestone rock formations and farmland commonly seen in Chinese landscape paintings. Disembark in Yangshuo and browse the antiques and handicrafts market, before driving back to Guilin for overnight stay.

Day 7 Guilin (AB,L,D)
Enjoy a full day tour to Longsheng, known for its terraced rice paddies and home to a colorful mix of ethnic minorities. Visit the Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces and admire the scenic vistas. Return to Guilin in the late afternoon.

Day 8 Guilin/Shanghai (AB,L,D)
Time permitting, visit the Reed Flute Cave, then transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to the Central Hotel (or similar). In the afternoon visit The Bund, popular walkway along the Huangpu River, also known for its historic European architecture. You’ll have time to relax and people watch before dinner.

Day 9 Shanghai (AB)
Full day at leisure to enjoy Shanghai’s many attractions.

Day 10 Shanghai/West Coast (AB)
Transfer to the airport in time for your international flight back to the USA.

Land only price begins in Beijing and ends in Shanghai. A $75 airfare surcharge will be added per person each way for departure and/or return on weekends. International air ticket taxes and airport departure taxes are additional.
